Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated WordPress Developer Intern to join our tech team on a remote basis. In this role, you will be directly involved in developing, maintaining, and optimizing HealthLetic's WordPress-based web presence. You will bridge front-end aesthetics with back-end functionality while ensuring a seamless user experience that reflects our brand and mission. This is a hands-on role where you will own tasks end-to-end, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and contribute to a live, user-facing product in the health-tech space.
Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress themes and plugins aligned with HealthLetic's branding and product goals
- Build and optimize responsive, mobile-first web pages that deliver a consistent experience across devices and screen sizes
- Implement front-end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, translating design mockups into functional web pages
- Troubleshoot and resolve website performance issues, bugs, and compatibility errors in a timely manner
- Collaborate with the design, marketing, and content teams to implement UI/UX improvements and new feature requests
- Perform regular website audits for speed, SEO readiness, accessibility, and security best practices
- Support integration of third-party tools, APIs, and plugins as required by product and marketing teams
- Document technical workflows, code changes, and update logs to maintain internal knowledge standards
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
- Hands-on experience with WordPress — theme customization, plugin management, and CMS administration
- Solid working knowledge of PHP for back-end WordPress development
- Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
- Understanding of responsive and adaptive web design principles
- Ability to read, debug, and modify existing codebases independently
- Strong attention to detail, self-discipline, and the ability to manage tasks in a remote environment
