Role Overview
HSBC is seeking an experienced professional to join the team as a Full Stack Developer - Python. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing software strategically, following best practices to ensure that solutions address evolving business and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with Analytics teams to build practical, workable software solutions that comply with accounting and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Implement software strategically, following best practices to address evolving business and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Analytics teams to build software solutions that are practical, workable and comply with accounting, regulatory or other requirements.
- Ensure FIM and other applicable accounting/regulatory requirements are met, liaising with Internal/External audit and regulators where necessary.
- Maintain focus on process optimisation and identify opportunities to enhance cost efficiency through automation, outsourcing, or centralisation.
- Foster strong working relationships between Analytics, Business, Transformation, and IT teams.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels of seniority and different backgrounds.
- Actively engage with team members for development projects and contribute to team discussions.
Requirements
- BTech / MTech in a quantitative or computer science related subject.
- Experience of end-to-end application and software product development.
- Knowledge of finance, particularly quantitative finance.
- Strong experience of Python programming language with Analytics skills.
- Strong knowledge of core Python along with frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, Pandas, and Numpy.
- Strong knowledge in object-oriented design, functional programming, software architecture, and algorithms.
- Knowledge of software development lifecycle/methodologies.
- Knowledge of REST, gRPC, Apache Beam, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Dash or other UI frameworks and AI Prompt.
- Knowledge of C++ is a nice to have.
