Role Overview
Mallow Tech is a dedicated team of professionals deeply experienced with PHP (Laravel) technology and other web development frameworks. We are looking for a PHP (Laravel) developer with 2-4 years of experience to build efficient, scalable, and secure web applications, designing backend services, integrating APIs, and optimizing databases.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain efficient, test-driven Laravel applications.
- Build and optimize RESTful APIs using best practices in performance and security.
- Write clean, maintainable code following coding standards.
- Identify and fix performance bottlenecks to ensure fast, scalable applications.
- Work closely with PMs, Designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver solid solutions.
- Ensure test coverage through PHPUnit, Pest, or similar frameworks.
- Provide production-level support by debugging and resolving issues quickly.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work independently as an individual contributor, owning end-to-end delivery of specific modules/features.
- Track and organize tasks through project management tools.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Laravel MVC, Eloquent ORM, queues (Redis/SQS), and Artisan CLI.
- Solid SQL skills (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience in writing unit test cases using PHPUnit, Pest, or similar framework.
- Experience with API documentation tools (Swagger, Postman).
- Proficiency in Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Experience handling background jobs using Horizon, Supervisor, or similar tools.
- Understanding of microservices, event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS).
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, and jQuery.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools (Claude, Cursor, or similar).
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.
