Cyber Security Intern (Network Security, Risk Assessment, Linux)

Role Overview

Medinex Workforce is seeking a Cyber Security Intern to support information security activities across monitoring, documentation, risk assessment, and security awareness. This role is intended for candidates who want to build practical cybersecurity knowledge while working on structured technical assignments in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reviewing security alerts, logs, and system activity
• Support basic security assessments and risk documentation
• Research common vulnerabilities and current cybersecurity practices
• Assist with maintaining security policies, checklists, and records
• Support controlled testing and verification of security controls
• Track identified issues and assist with remediation follow-ups
• Help prepare security assessment summaries and reports
• Participate in cybersecurity awareness and process-improvement activities

Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and information security
• Familiarity with Linux fundamentals is preferred
• Interest in vulnerability management and security operations
• Academic or personal cybersecurity projects are welcome
