Forward Deployed Engineer

Role Overview

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Persistent, you will partner directly with customers to design, build, and deploy scalable cloud, AI, and enterprise software solutions that solve complex business challenges and accelerate digital transformation. You will bring deep expertise across modern software engineering, cloud-native architectures, AI/Generative AI technologies, platform engineering, and data ecosystems, along with the ability to translate emerging technologies into measurable business outcomes for clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop full-stack applications using modern web technologies, APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, enterprise integration, and distributed systems.
• Build scalable, resilient, enterprise-grade platforms using multi-cloud, cloud-native, serverless, containerized, and Kubernetes-based architectures.
• Implement and improve engineering automation across CI/CD, GitOps, MLOps, Infrastructure as Code, observability, monitoring, automated deployments, Secure SDLC, and release engineering.
• Build and operationalize AI solutions spanning Generative AI, machine learning, deep learning, Agentic AI, orchestration frameworks, RAG, vector databases, model fine-tuning, LLMOps, and secure AI practices.
• Shape enterprise architecture and modernization initiatives using established architecture frameworks, cloud-native design patterns, integration architectures, and security best practices.
• Evaluate, prototype, and operationalize emerging technologies through Proofs of Concept, accelerator programs, modernization initiatives, and AI transformation efforts.
• Enable AI, analytics, and business intelligence solutions through modern data platforms, ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, real-time streaming, and data-driven application architectures.

Requirements

• Full-stack software engineering expertise across Java, Python, .NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Angular.
• Deep application and integration experience covering API development, microservices, event-driven architectures, enterprise integration, and distributed systems design.
• Cloud and platform engineering expertise across Azure, AWS, and GCP, with strong knowledge of multi-cloud and cloud-native architectures.
• Advanced DevSecOps and MLOps knowledge including CI/CD, GitOps, Terraform, Ansible, observability, monitoring, Secure SDLC, release engineering, and platform automation.
• Hands-on AI and machine learning expertise with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Llama, Mistral, and Hugging Face.
• Experience with AI orchestration and agent frameworks including LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, and AutoGen.
• Strong knowledge of modern AI engineering practices including prompt engineering, RAG, Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, FAISS, Azure AI Search, model fine-tuning, LLMOps, and secure AI.
• Enterprise architecture and security proficiency including TOGAF, Zachman, Zero Trust, IAM, encryption, compliance frameworks, cybersecurity, and secure AI implementation.
