Job Description
Role Overview
The Next Generation Avionics (NGA) Engineering organization is looking for a Software Engineer to join our product development group. The primary responsibility is designing and developing Flight Management Systems software based upon legacy NGFMS product line functionality with transformations required to operate within the NGA FMS Product for Part 23 Class 1 / 2, Part 23 Class 3 / 4, and Part 25 aircraft.
Responsibilities
- SW architecture design and embedded C++ coding
- Object oriented development
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (DO-178C preferred)
- Creating test cases for software based upon use cases derived from the system and software requirements
- Ensures tasks are completed on time and to specifications
- Anticipate problems, recognize and eliminate barriers
- Keep management apprised of program status and roadblocks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering
- 3-5 years of experience in performing software development
