Backend Game Developer – Unity

Role Overview

We are looking for a talented Backend Game Developer with Unity experience to join our game development team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of backend systems, APIs, databases, and multiplayer/game-server architecture, along with hands-on experience working with Unity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services for Unity-based games.
• Design and implement REST APIs and game-related backend systems.
• Integrate Unity games with backend services.
• Work with databases to store and manage player, game, and transaction data.
• Develop systems for player accounts, authentication, game progression, leaderboards, inventory, rewards, etc.
• Optimize backend performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Debug and resolve server-side and API-related issues.
• Collaborate with Unity developers, game designers, QA, and other team members.
• Implement secure and reliable communication between the game client and backend.
• Monitor and improve existing backend infrastructure.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with Unity and game development.
• Strong programming skills in C# and/or a backend programming language such as Node.js, Java, Python, or similar.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, and WebSockets.
• Experience working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Firebase.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and API security.
• Knowledge of Git/version control systems.
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Understanding of game backend architecture and client-server communication.

• Experience optimizing backend systems for high concurrent users.
• Published game or previous game-development experience.
