Role Overview
ScienceLogic is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented DevOps Engineer in Test to support our engineering organization by building, managing, and optimizing test infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role is critical in ensuring reliable, scalable, and production-like environments for release validation and hardening.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain VMware-based virtual machine environments for on-premises deployments.
- Provision, configure, and manage AWS infrastructure, including EC2, VPC, Elastic IPs, and security groups.
- Stand up and maintain test environments for engineering teams, particularly during release hardening phases.
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring scalable and repeatable deployments.
- Develop and maintain automation workflows for provisioning and teardown of test environments.
- Analyze and optimize infrastructure utilization across on-prem and AWS environments.
- Integrate and manage test workflows within Jenkins pipelines.
- Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure test coverage.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps infrastructure, cloud management, software testing, or QA engineering.
- Strong experience with VMware virtualization and VM lifecycle management.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, VPC, Elastic IPs, Security Groups).
- In-depth knowledge of Terraform, including module design and state management.
- Familiarity with Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (subnets, routing, firewalls).
