Job Description
Role Overview
This is a remote position focused on designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications using Java/J2EE technologies. The role involves developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend components while translating business requirements into technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
- Develop and enhance RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend components.
- Translate business and functional requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code following development standards.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement fixes.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, deployment, and application support activities.
- Work with databases and develop or optimize SQL queries as required.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA, DevOps, and support teams.
- Support application integration with internal and external systems.
- Maintain technical documentation and adhere to coding, quality, and security standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Relevant hands-on experience in Java application development and support.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java, J2EE, and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Good understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
- Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
- Knowledge of Git or similar version-control tools.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery practices.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Maven or Gradle.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience working with enterprise application integrations.
