We are seeking motivated Backend Developer Interns to join our team and contribute to building the foundational infrastructure of our platform. As a founding-team role, you will have the autonomy to select your preferred tech stack, architecture, and tools, making this an excellent opportunity for independent developers eager to make a tangible social impact.
Responsibilities
- Designing and building a scalable database schema tailored for a location-based public welfare application.
- Developing REST APIs to facilitate core functionalities such as retrieving animal profiles, submitting rescue requests, and implementing location-based matching logic.
- Writing clear, concise documentation for each module you develop to ensure maintainability.
- Participating in regular meetings with the founder for progress updates and priority alignment.
- Independently executing technical tasks and making informed decisions on architecture and implementation strategies.
Requirements
- Foundational understanding of backend development and related technologies.
- Working knowledge of Node.js, Django, or Flask frameworks.
- Basic experience with SQL databases or Firebase/Firestore.
- Familiarity with REST API design principles.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and GitHub.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work independently.
