Role Overview

Are you an AI enthusiast with visionary thinking to conceptualize AI-based products? We are seeking a Research Intern, AI who will work alongside SHL’s AI team on cutting-edge AI/ML challenges in natural language processing (NLP), audio/speech processing, and computer vision. This internship offers hands-on experience with advanced AI research and product development, with the potential for conversion to a full-time Research Engineer, AI role based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Work on advanced AI/ML models in NLP, speech, and vision using deep learning.
• Prototype generative AI models like LLMs, RAG, and multimodal AI.
• Assist in developing and optimizing AI/ML solutions for real-world applications.
• Implement orchestration frameworks and performance monitoring tools.
• Collaborate on scalable ML models and their integration into production.
• Contribute to data collection, annotation, and validation for better models.
• Contribute to research papers and documentation with AI/ML advancements.

Requirements

• Must be available to work full-time for the next 3-6 months.
• Strong coding ability, preferably in Python.
• Experience with AI/ML projects through internships, research, or academic coursework.
• Familiarity with frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.

Desirable

• Experience in NLP, computer vision, or speech processing.
• Knowledge of Generative AI models, LLMs, and advanced deep learning techniques.
• Knowledge of statistical modelling, mathematical optimization, and ML fairness principles.
