PERN Stack Developer Intern(Unpaid)

Role Overview

As a PERN Stack Developer Intern (Unpaid) at Small Fare®, you will work with Postgres, Express, React, and Node.js to support the development of our digital-first products across the company’s portfolio. This remote internship allows you to gain practical experience in modern web application development and exposure to product-focused workflows.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
• Implement front-end interfaces using React.
• Integrate back-end services with Postgres databases.
• Collaborate with mentors and cross-functional team members to troubleshoot issues.
• Write clean and reusable code and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to new feature development.

Requirements

• Proficiency in PERN stack fundamentals, including Node.js, Express, React, and basic Postgres database concepts.
• Understanding of web technologies such as JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and RESTful APIs.
• Ability to work with Git or other version control tools.
• Basic knowledge of backend concepts such as authentication, routing, and error handling.
• Interest in frontend UI/UX principles and ability to implement responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
